Java & Ink was founded in 2022 because I needed the flexibility to leave my corporate career and be present for my mother, Jean, after her dementia diagnosis. Walking alongside her through the end of her life, three years later, left me completely unprepared for the physical and emotional realities of those final hours, which is why I wrote When Dementia Nears the End.
